PROFESSOR INVITED TO CHINA AS AN EXPERT

Prof. Devang Pandya, Dy. Director. School of Pharmacy, RK University, was invited to an all-expense-paid trip to China to participate in the events of ‘China National Project on Foreign Experts’, funded by State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, People’s Republic of China, from 4th â€“ 11th November, 2019.

The visit comprised of The Belt & Road International Symposium on Traditional Medicine, sponsored by Ministry of Education, People’s Republic of China & organized by Huazhong Agriculture University, Wuhan, China, 5th â€“ 7th November, where Prof. Pandya also presented a research paper orally. On 8th November, Prof. Pandya visited medicinal plant cultivation farms, processing units and herbal medicine manufacturing units in Loutian, China. The trip ended with a visit to Shanghai and participation in various discussions & meetings regarding traditional medicine & medicinal plants in Pinghu, China, sponsored by the Business Development Centre of the city. Prof. Pandya was accompanied by herbal researchers of 20 countries from across the globe during this entire trip.

Prof. Pandya (M. Pharm. - Pharmacognosy, Ph. D.) specializes in Indian medicinal plants and has 12 years of experience in the same.  He won ‘Best Research Paper (Oral)’ award at World Ayurveda Conference, Ahmedabad, in February, 2019.  Three of his six Ph. D. students have won First Prize in research competitions for their Ph. D. work in reputed external events, whereas three of them have received funding for their Ph. D. work. Prof. Pandya has more than 30 Research Papers in Web of Science/Scopus-indexed journals.  He was among Top-50 reviewers internationally in Publons Peer Review Pharmacy Awards in 2016, 2017 & 2018. He has been a resource person & scientific committee member in more than 25 academic and research events.
