Students Educational Visit at PHC Khirasara accredited by NABH

School of Pharmacy, RK University continuously on regular basis arrange Pharmaceutical industrial visits, health awareness campaigns, medical store & hospital training for the students’ holistic development and better understanding of actual pharmacy practice.
1st Year Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D), 8th Semester B. Pharm and PG students of School of Pharmacy visited PHC- Primary Health Center of Khirasara Village, Rajkot on 20th February 2020. The PHC – Khirasara is accredited by NABH- National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) is a constituent board of Quality Council of India, set up to establish and operate accreditation programme for healthcare organizations and awarded as one of the best PHC Centers in India.From this visit, our students learned patients and their disease in holistic perspectives, i.e. understanding the patient with its environment-physical, social, economic. Also knew about the different health care delivery system available in the community.
This educational visit was helpful for students to understand Drug Store Management, Dispensing method and documentation, Immunization program conduction, PHC setup and Govt. Health Policy, Biological Disposal system, Creative medicinal garden etc. at PHC.
The entire visit was organized by Dr. Pravin Tirgar, Mr. Tejas Ganatra and Ms. Jinal Adhiya, Department of Pharmacology, School of Pharmacy, RK University.
