Mr. Dhaval Vargiya, full-time PhD Scholar, RK University, delivered an expert lecture on “Elucidation of impact of pesticides on wetlands and waterbirds” in a technical seminar at Kamdhenu University on 7th December, 2017. The lecture was attended by almost 100 students, nature lovers and wildlife rescuers. The lecture content included importance of wetland conservation and harmful effects of pesticides on wetland wildlife (especially birds). Mr. Vargiya is currently pursuing his Ph. D. under Dr. Devang Pandya, Dy. Director, School of Pharmacy, RK University. Mr. Vargiya is a recipient of UGC-RGNF fellowship for his Ph. D. work on effect of pesticides on wetlands. He is also the founder member of Mokarsagar Wetland Conservation Committee, a non-profit organization working for betterment of the Mokarsagar-Gosabara Wetland Complex
